which COLD AIR INTAKE is the best in performance and fuel economy for 5.7 2009 Tundra? I am leaning towards K&N for its well known name. Do you realy need a pipe as well (freeflow exhaust) and an…

Hi Shannon - nice pics of the install! It looks really good and I'm glad you love the sound (even if the neighbors don't). I didn't realize the 50 had less sound than the 40. Now slam the pedal and lose the MPG increases ;-)

Listen to the tranny shift out from a stop and count them. If you only hear/feel 4 shift points, then it's in 5th....if you hear 5 then it went into 6th. Still shifting into 6th as of yesterday on my trip back from Austin.

I would also lean towards Volant, mostly because it is a completely enclosed intake and will not grab any warm air from the engine. Just last weekend I installed a 50 series cat back exhaust on my 5.7 CM. that I got from Auto Anything and found a n…

Funny thing - I've been paying attention since that post on 6th and realized my truck shifts into 6th on its own. I must have trained it well.

I also agree but all claim big numbers most brands you cut in half! Volant truly helps, with a catback exhaust, and a bed cover you can get between 3-5 mpgs back. Also using you slapstick at cruising speeds by sticking it in sixth gear. Another litt…
