It turns out that the mileage is not all that much different. I would suggest the 5.7 for towing.
I have never heard of the stock tires doing that. I suggest that you take them to a Michelin dealer for warranty.

Press and hold the VSC button (lower right side of dash) for at least 3 seconds.
Your '07 has both Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control. Both will apply the antilock braking system selectively if the think the truck is unstable or slipping. It might be some sort of problem with a wheel sensor??
From the description, I would guess that the VSC is kicking in but why it would do that is another question.
It has been called a lot of things but it is common to all 5.7's. It is more noticeable when the engine is cold, almost like a diesel sound. It mostly goes away when it reaches normal operating temperature. The prevailing theory seems to be that it…
The TRD wheels will fit but you need the TRD lug nuts also.
It could be an engine immobilizer issue. If you have another key on your key ring with an imbedded chip, that would do it.
