wnet to my toyota dealer wanted to test drive the 4.6 they didnt have one so they traded with another dealer to get one it was supposed to be in yesterday so i waited for a call couldnt wait so went to dealer test drove 5.7 with more options and its in my driveway love it,now i dont have to worry if the 4.6 had enough power.now im singed up here to get opinions on how to improve and to see whats going on with tundra owners. good to be in the tundra pack
Me too, got a 2010 tundra DC 4wd non-trd for 30K in July basically because the color and options I wanted were in the truck on the lot and the 4.6L did not have the color/options I wanted. The salesman said driving about 12K per year, the smaller engine only saves me 5 bucks per week, 20 bucks per month, and about 250 bucks per year. It adds up to savings, but not that much. By the way, the spruce mica green 5.7L tundra they had on their lot was not a very good color. That color green looked nice in the shade, but when the sun hit it the brighter green has GOLD flakes (not silver metallic flakes like most vehicles have) in the paint WAY TOO MUCH and unless you are a Green Bay Packer fan, it is gruesome to look at. With silver metallic flakes with that green color, it would look sharp. Gold was a little too much for me to stomach. This color will not sell well for 2010 being a new color green unlike the sharp looking timberline mica green metallic it replaced. I also like the non-trd on my 2010 vs. my TRD pkg. on my 2007 had which road bumpier/choppier on the roads where I live.
Hey guys just picked up a new 2010 double cab 5.7 and I am looking to put a exhaust on it. an I am wanting a dual striaght out the back, but I am wanting something with good low sound, but wont roumble me out the cab cruising down the street. mainly looking for good sound a low speeds and when puming the gas.
i have Magnaflow exaust and like it. cat-back with two indivudual baffles. It's a low rumble sitting still and sounds great when you stomp on it but it's not real loud at cruising speeds on the highway. You could also take it a step down and put the 2in-2out singles baffle with the X configuration and that mellows it out a little bit more.

Go with Magnaflow over Flowmaster if you don't want the real rumble. Also has better composition for wear/tear and never heard anyone complain about Magnas being too loud.
