Starting last summer I started having a squeal in the front of my engine bay. Sounded like the fan belt to me. I've had it in the shop SEVERAL times and they have replaced the belt and tensioner but it is still making the noise. Any ideas?
Also about a month ago my truck starting making a whining noise whenever I'd been running it and then shut it off. The service shop said it's my CAI releasing built up pressure but after having the CAI over a year why would it just now start doing this? Any ideas?

There's two separate and different noises.
1. Squeal - Only happens when the AC is on and does not happen once truck is turned off
2. Whine - This is the one that makes the noise when the truck is turned off
I just think it is funny that the Toyota dealership told me both of these problems is coming from my aftermarket CAI

There could be a problem with the compressor, which BTW would cause hissing after the truck is off while the pressure is equalized in the system, and the compressor is hard to turn due to the problem. This is a pretty complicated problem so I might be off but it does fit the symptoms.

Take it in ask for a tech to do a drive with you and point out the problems!

That is all helpful guys. I should take it up there and them to ride with me. They supposedly took it for a drive last time to see if they could figure it out. I might just go up there first thing next week and talk to them about all these possibilities.
