No idea what that is, mine does the same thing though. It has done it from Day 1 prior to the install of my leveling kit. I'm still running stock tires too, so I don't think either of those are a factor. I would love to know what it is though. Thanks for starting this discussion.
its called axle wrap, if you look at it on "you tube" you can see what it is on jeeps. i had an 07 model with 275/60/20, 3" front 1" back lift, never had this problem. they do make ladder bars for this (if axle wrap is the problem)
Still no solution yet!
this happens to me too..you come to a stop and then a few secs later you feel like your transmission was just put in drive...i thought it might be from the slip dif and the option of manual to automatic drive..
I had this same issue. It felt like there was slack in the drive train. It mostly occurred when taking off from a stop or braking. I took it in yesterday for routine service and spoke with the techs. When I picked it up they mentioned that they had found a service bulletin related to the issue. TSB 0015-08 which requires the replacement of the drive line.
I'll keep you posted after they get the drive shaft installed.
dino's right on the TSB. but there's two issues apparently. one is with the driveshaft alignment, one with a propeller shaft i believe. i'll try to upload the docs i have if anyone want to see them.
Hope it cures the problem. they did put out a "TSB" back in November on the torque converter, for a shudder problem? What's a shudder!? courious as to what exactly they will have replaced on your drive line.
Component Description:
1. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER Bulletin Number: 01807
Bulletin Date: NOV 2007
Vehicle: 2008 Toyota Tundra
Summary:
TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER. VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 6 SPEED ATM. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10023986 )
Same for the 07 model as well
Well I picked up the Tundra from the shop. The drive line was replaced per the service bulletin and the good news is it is much better. I asked why this had to be replaced and all they mentioned was that the splines sometimes stick and bind?
Given you have the big Toyo's (how do you like them) it may have had an impact on the drive line.
I'm not going to say its 100% resolved I still feel there is something within the brake/drive train systems but its much better.
I drove my ex's 2007 Tundra and she has no bumping what so ever. Figures!
to bad it didn't fix the whole problem. I talked to 3 other dealers and all three knew exactly what i was describing and recomended the drive line replacement or torque converter, or both. One said he has done both to fix the issue. i'm getting my drive line on order Friday, so maybe first of next week i'll see some difference. well let everyone know.
Love the 305 Toyo's. had to take the very front little mud flaps off to keep from grinding on them when turning, still have grinding when turned all the way left or right though. haven't gotten out and looked to see where the secound grind, or rub is on stop to stop yet. smooth ride, as expected with bigger tires going to have some roughness though, and surprizingly very quite on the highway. good tire.
left some pics to look at

Thanks for the photo's Are the Toyo's fairly quiet? Let me know how the process goes for you I'm thinking the next step is the converter. I'm going to see how it does with the new driveline.
